BRIDGEPORT — Local police are asking members of the community to consider donating money, food or gift cards after a firefighter was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Jonathan Pabon, 33, has worked for the Bridgeport Fire Department for five years, according to a GoFundMe page established by self-described friend and coworker Myles Rich. Funds raised will be used to cover medical expenses, child care costs and “to help bridge the gap of any loss of wages due to family leave,” Rich wrote in the page description.
“He has always been one of the first to help those in need,” Rich wrote of Pabon.
